Medium of instruction?
Dual medium instruction will be offered - English and Afrikaans. A policy defining the 
structure and method will be informed by best practice and input from a specialist 
in the field.
 
Maximum / minimum class-size?
Educational best practice defined by our philosophy demands a minimum of 10 and a 
maximum of 25.
 
How many classes per grade as goal?
The Principia College Philosophy reflects a small learning community environment.

Principia caters for a specific market and does not see itself in competition with other

Curriculum?
ACADEMIC:    Principia College Preparatory School will provide a stimulating learning 
environment teaching the prescribed content of the national curriculum statement while 
drawing from international benchmarks of excellence as part of a broad-based, progressive 
learning experience.
CULTURAL:   Art, drama and music as integral to development of self and awareness 
and perceptual skills. 
PHYSICAL:   Individual personal physical development and skills working towards developing 
team sports and determining individual aptitudes. As a member the SCISF (South Cape 
Independent Schools Forum) Principia maintains exist very strong links with the SCISF schools - 
Glenwood House in George, Oakhill School and Stepping Stones in Knysna. Inter-school sporting 
competition is well structured and organised with these schools with regular competitions in winter 
and summer sports codes.

member the SCISF. There exist very strong and supportive links between the SCISF schools - 
Glenwood House in George, Oakhill school and Stepping Stones in Knysna. Ideas, concepts 
and professional development of teachers are all facilitated through these two bodies to the benefit
of our school pupils.
